This project involves the transformation of a 2,650 sqft Grade II listed building into a modern Martial Arts Academy. The design balances the need for a functional, high-performance training environment with the preservation of the building’s historical integrity. Special attention has been given to maintaining the original architectural features, such as exposed beams and ornate masonry, while introducing modern elements like reinforced flooring, state-of-the-art training equipment, and energy-efficient lighting systems.
Working within the constraints of a Grade II listed structure, we’ve carefully adapted the interior to meet contemporary safety standards, ensuring the space is both inspiring for students and respectful of the building’s heritage.
Key Features:
Once completed, the Martial Arts Academy will stand as a unique blend of historical architecture and modern design, providing a one-of-a-kind training facility that honors both the past and the future of the space. The project exemplifies how heritage sites can be creatively repurposed for contemporary uses while preserving their cultural significance.
